Accessibility
We want every coach, player and staff member to be able to use Hashmark, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, zoom or other assistive technology. This statement covers the website (usehashmark.com) and the app (app.usehashmark.com).
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. We are not there everywhere yet, and we keep working on it with every update.
What we have done
- Text alternatives: images and icons that carry meaning have a text label, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Keyboard: buttons, links and fields can be reached with the keyboard, and show a clear outline when they have focus.
- Contrast: text and buttons use strong contrast against their background, and colored players always carry a letter, so color is never the only clue.
- Less motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, Hashmark turns its animations off.
- Text size: pages work with your browser's zoom and text-size settings, on a laptop, an iPad or a phone.
Known limits
- Play drawings are visual. A play's call, formation and tags can be read as text, but the drawing itself (routes, blocks and movement) has no full text description yet.
- Printed wristbands and call sheets are made to be read at a glance on the field. Small print sizes chosen to fit a wristband may be hard to read for some players; the same calls are in the app, where they can be zoomed.
- Some older screens may still miss labels or have small touch targets. Please tell us when you find one.
Tell us about a problem
If something in Hashmark is hard or impossible for you to use, email support@usehashmark.com. Tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and assistive technology you use. We reply as quickly as we can, and if we can't fix it quickly, we help you get the information another way.
